To work in the UK as a general practitioner it is necessary to hold the following certificates:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • (PMETB) Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board / (JCPTGP) Joint committee for post-graduate training for GPs certificate. (Or either the certificate of prescribed experience or the certificate of equivalent experience)
  • Up to date Medical Indemnity Insurance
  • All non-principal GPs assisting in the provision of GMS (General Medical Services) need to be included on a Health Authority Performers List
  • Up to date Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosure
